During his weekly school visits David noticed that some students were becoming discouraged. Perhaps they were using older, “hand-me-down” instruments or instruments that were simply not working properly. It was obvious to David then, that supplying an affordable, high quality instrument would greatly enhance a student’s ability to grow and prosper in their musical education. This viewpoint is also borne out by current research that shows that inexpensive instruments of lesser quality or that do not function properly can actually inhibit students from effectively participating in their school programs.
