Comprised of acclaimed vocalist Tierney Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Christian Jacob (piano), Trey Henry (bass), and Ray Brinker (drums), the Tierney Sutton Band has been a spirited force in the world of jazz for over 17 years. Nominated for three Grammy Awards for “Best Vocal Jazz Album,” the band has headlined in such leading venues as Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Kennedy Center, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Praised for a voice that is “soft as silk and smooth as fine bourbon” (Chicago Sun-Times), Ms. Sutton, along with her band members, opens the first-ever Rockport Jazz Festival.
