He was part of Natalie Cole's famous Unforgettable album and toured as her pianist and, eventually conductor. He wrote an orchestral arrangement for her second video with her dad, When I Fall In Love, which won him his first Grammy. Broadbent won his second Grammy for an orchestral accompaniment written for Shirley Horn. He has been nominated for Grammys twice for best instrumental performance as a soloist and with his trio. Broadbent is Diana Krall's conductor for her occasional orchestra concerts and he is the conductor on her Live in Paris DVD. He has recently been the arranger on Glenn Frey's album, After Hours, and wrote six string arrangements for Sir Paul McCartney's Kisses On The Bottom with the London Symphony. Bassist Frank Tate was the leader of the house band at Blues Ally in Washington D.C. before moving to New York to join Marian McPartland in 1975. He has played with jazz notables Benny Goodman, Zoot Sims, Teddy Wilson, Joe Venuti, Pearl Baily, and the Ruby Braf trio including Howard Alden. Tate played on Cape Cod with Bobby Hackett and played at the famous Columns club in Dennis with Dave McKenna. He is a founding member of the Alden-Barrett Quintet.
