Intentional Jazz, the brainchild of trumpeter Rob Fisch, pays tribute to the heritage and roots of jazz during the 'hard bop' era, exemplified by the likes of Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Cannonball Adderly, Dexter Gordon, Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Bobby Timmons, Cedar Walton, Joanne Brackeen, Woody Shaw, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison and Mulgrew Miller to name a few and many others.

In addition to writing original material, hard bop jazz artists often took standard favorite songs from previous generations (i.e. George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter) and reworked them, adding modern jazz harmonies, phrasing and rhythms....

Intentional Jazz brings to audiences a fresh return to this rich tradition, complete with special sextet arrangements written for trumpet, sax, & trombone along with a traditional jazz rhythm section of piano, bass and drums.

Led by Rob Fisch, Intentional Jazz brings together the finest jazz musicians from Northeastern New York, Western Massachusetts, and Southern Vermont.
