The Roost Jazz Cafe
Paul DeGive and Marvi Arredondo Haynes have created a space where Jazz music can grow and flourish. It is designed to give musicians a place to play, listen and learn. The Roost blends the style of a sexy Manhattan nightclub with the atmosphere of a San Francisco Cafe. The newly converted space is in the historic Mill Yard in downtown Amesbury, a charming village on the north shore of Boston. Exposed brick, hard wood floors and seductive lighting give an authenticity that makes you feel cool the minute you step inside. The Roost is large enough to allow for varying degrees of involvement with the live music. Whether sitting against the dimly lit back wall, in a booth by the open stage or lounging around a coffee table reading a book in the front, people are encouraged to just come and hang out.
